Anyone with a brain could see that Trump was a seriously flawed human being who was running for the Republican nomination.

It's easy to blame the RNC and all the other GOP nominees for failing to do their due diligence in vetting Trump from the onset.

But there are two other components that led to Trump's successful run to date.

One is the systematic dumbing down on the Republican electorate by the Republican Party over the last 8 years. The Republican voters were spoon fed / brainwashed with lies a la galore. Lies after lies after lies.

First they went after President Obama but after he won the nomination for a second term, in addition to blocking him at every turn, the GOP turned their attention and their brainwashing armada (Fox News ... better known as Bullshit Mountain) to attack Hillary Clinton knowing that she'd not only again seek the nomination but that she would be a prohibitive favorite.

Little did the GOP realize that their dumbed down electorate was ripe for the picking by a well tuned pied piper like Trump who successfully corralled this demographic into his corner as loyal millions while also incorporating fringe elements like the Alt-right and the KKK elements.

Meanwhile the perfect storm still would not have happened without the greed of the media who basically whored themselves for a ratings bonanza (aka money and lots of it) by riding the Trump Train as long as they could. The media was as complicit in the Trump disaster as anyone else. They gave Trump billions in free advertising and promotion thus enabling him to easily defeat 16 other GOP candidates for the nomination. The media ignored hundreds of Trump's disastrous gaffes that would have, in any other election, disqualified or derailed any other candidate. They refused to hold him responsible to any standards. They abdicated their journalistic integrity time after time.

These three elements were directly responsible for the Trump fiasco.

One of the three elements (Media) can self reflect and change their ways. But alas, I doubt the GOP has learned their mistake in that dumbing their electorate is not the solution and that instead they need to educate their followers with the truth instead.

And then there's the small matter of the tens of millions of disenfranchised republicans that they brainwashed. They'll still be around for the picking in 3 years time.

Anyone ready for the 2020 fiasco with Ted Cruz, Christie, Giuliani or God forbid, one of the Trumps again using the same tried and tested methodology !!

I never knew there were so many ignorant, low IQ people that can be so easily radicalized to bring out their ignorance and racism.

We made history by electing out first black president and then reelecting him. His family has been a shining light like few before yet mocked like never before by the opposing Republican party. You can mark my words in that President Obama will go into the history books as one of the best, if not THE best Presidents, America has ever had despite the Republican Party blocking him at every turn imaginable.

I heard of someone "talking to a Trump supporter the other day who didn't have the slightest clue what the job of Secretary of State entails. Not a clue to that and many other things about how our government works. It's just pure ignorance and fear of different cultures brainwashed into them that drives the Republican Party & Trump supporters."
