(466 posts)1964 was great year for the Dems but wonder if there are any states that never voted for the Dems.

(6,286 posts)I would bet the farm that every state has cast a vote for both parties at one time or another. Especially considering the shifting of each party over time

(25,857 posts)is asking Latinos? And why do I think that "just elderly whites and a few Blacks with land lines" isn't entirely accurate?
I do recognize that any poll that doesn't count someone who didn't vote in 2012 is completely missing out on those who turned 18 since then and now will vote, even though young voters aren't yet reliable voters. But I find it hard to believe that every bit of polling in Texas is totally skewed.
mythology
(9,527 posts)They generally vote at a low rate. They are a bit above 35% of the population, but only make up about 15% of the votes cast. Some of that could be age related, some of it could be Republican opposition to voting rights, etc. But also in Texas, Hispanics have traditionally been far more split than they are in other parts of the country. George W Bush got almost 45% of the Hispanic vote in 1998 in the governor's race.

(129,011 posts)I think that's the highest that I have ever seen it. They actually have Hillary with a 53.5% to 46.5% chance of winning AZ! Never thought I'd see AZ surpass IA as being in play!
