I listen to Penn's Sunday School (only podcast I really like, due to my love for magic) which is super anti-Trump due to Jillette's personal experience with Trump on The Apprentice. They're like literal arch-enemies (Penn would like that characterization I think, more so than ongoing his joke about David Copperfield).
He doesn't want to articulate what Trump actually said because he doesn't want to "get it wrong," but he can 100% confirm that what the AP suggests and what the rumors say are true about what Trump said, on camera, in front of dozens of people, on a regular basis.
On his latest podcast, Penn's Sunday School Episode 241 - Red, Not Red. Original Air Date - October 9, 2016, he sums up Trumps behavior, and it's crazy: http://pennsundayschool.com/episodes/
If those tapes get released Trump is absolutely going to be unable to recover. Not that he has a chance as it is, but holy cow.
He isn't a Clinton fan, mind you, but has made philosophical arguments for voting for her, and I basically disagree with everything he says economically as it pertains to social responsibility. Super libertarian, effectively. I personally think his dislike for Trump is so immense when he's in the voting booth he'll vote for Clinton rather than Johnson. But that's immaterial.
He confirms The Apprentice tapes, effectively, and given that he spent two seasons on the show, possibly longer than almost anyone else, in the presence of Trump, and can confirm the crap that was said, I think is extremely damaging to Trump.
There's a THR post on Twitter where, at the end, Penn calls Trump sexist, "by definition": https://twitter.com/THR/status/785943094206144512
On the podcast I link he says he should've spoke up in more instances but the nature of TV dissuaded him from doing so (his excuse is convoluted though, as I expect better of Penn, but the stuff Trump said that didn't air probably wouldn't have aired had he spoke up anyway).
Anyway, you can hate Penn and his politics, but man is he a source of pure joy for anti-Trump stuff. He really, really doesn't like Trump. If you can look past his opinions on other matters (really, being pro-corporate but anti-corporate welfare isn't that bad; being anti-social-welfare is the real issue I have with him), you will find it enjoyable.

It's cascading. With or without the release of the tapes, we're getting confirmation after confirmation.
