(12,167 posts)This tutorial tells you how to make an Obama "Hope" poster... same technique would be used for the sleazebag Trumpian variant:

or there's some trademark issue and some styles of images get removed sometimes. I can never see Lukovitch cartoons that get posted here.
Klook's post # 12 is still showing. Maybe because he uses or cites imgur? But his other post with the tutorial, it was unavailable to me, from the first time I saw it.
Here's one I got one from dscntnt_irny_srcsm, and it's still showing: http://www.democraticunderground.com/125611868
That one looks like a pic of a British mag cover.
I never read all the ins and outs of technical posting matters, when signing up to post on the site, More of a long winded typer than tech literate and artistic.
Used to be a whiz at vcr and stereo system set ups, and daisy chaining players for copying purposes, and recording tv shows while watching other shows. More like roadie or IATSE stuff, and I'd help other people out by looking at their jumble of wires, plugs and jacks, and on screen menus. But this new fangled tech, I'm bone ignorant about.
I've done quite a bit of electrical and data hard line work for wireless ISP companies, but all I do there is plead with them to provide me with a print or schematic ("where's the wire go, please, boss?" ), just watch carefully for proper implementation re how the various power and data equipment and machinery daisy chains. I've never installed one that failed or got damaged, using that policy. (And I'm fairly positive this displeased the vendor and their uncle over at the customer's HQ.) I don't know what half the gizmos are doing, but all the smart phone computer stuff is going back to some bank of servers or another. There's all kinds of big money on both sides of that data reception-transmission equation (or web or hub or whatever. Intertube.)
I've also seen copyright enforcement stuff occur online before. I was just looking up an old Borowitz piece, and it can't be reached in it's entirety anywhere. I saw DKos enforce a tight restriction on Tom Tomorrow distribution for quite a while. Those deals messed with archived political works the authors originated before the affiliation contracts were signed. The whole issue may be money. The online content owners like NewYorker, DK, etc., should be turning to the Internet Service Providers, who all people online are already paying, for a fairer cut of the profits. Because money is making all kinds of good political ideas and framing go right down the memory hole.
Yet there's so much free right wing garbage thrown at you, by the shovelsfull, on line, all the time. Extremely low demand stuff, with a very small number of extremist fans. They've got movies, memes, graphics, tons of free media coverage. Nobody wants it, it's shovelled in a tidal deluge at them, anyway. If I look up a political subject, I'll get 20 different bizarre rightwing outlets lining up to give me their spin. None of them are profitable. The stuff sits around abandoned and archived, for years. Their stuff only gets scrubbed when it blows up in their faces politically. How can they exist, continue to survive financially, to offer free "info", side by side with good sites that have to operate behind a paywall?
Borowitz, TT, NewYorker, The Times, WaPo deserve to make some money, but they should obviously be getting a fairer cut from the companies that are gouging rate payers.

(9,115 posts)I had a graph photo from the Center for Responsive Politics, charting the spending of 501 (c) (4)s, (5)s, and (6)s, from 2000 to 2012, pre and post Citi United. It's stuck on my desktop as a png file, I changed it from a jpeg. Could never copy it and put it into a message text box and post it so it showed up, no matter what I tried.
Pre-fab youtube links are the only thing I successfully post here, because I just copy the http address, and it automatically shows up as a vid.
