‘You got a bad attitude’: Agitated judge tears off robe, tackles man in courtroom

The robe came off.

A Michigan judge, growing increasingly frustrated with a defendant who was talking back to him, stormed down from his bench and rushed to help subdue the man as he resisted being handcuffed.

Though the incident took place in December, video footage of the scuffle was published this week on Mlive.com. It showed a rare instance of a judge physically intervening in a courtroom situation — something that at least one of the Michigan judge’s colleagues said was justified in this case.

The four-minute, profanity-laced video showed the defendant, Jacob Larson, accusing Jackson County Circuit Court Judge John McBain of being “buddy-buddy” with a woman Larson had been accused of stalking for about a year, Mlive reported.

can go fuck off, he does not care what it is it is what he wants that counts. I've come to describe that as the criminal mindset.

According to the defendant it is all the woman's fault that he is stalking her. She wears makeup and does her hair, so she is enticing him.

Then down in the comments a guy comments that she can just block him on social media to avoid his attention. I guess he never heard of people creating fake accounts.

I agree with the judge, the guy was yelling obscenities and at his victim, the judge kept increasing his jail time for not shutting up. he then started fighting off the officers trying to take him into custody. The downside is now the judge has recused himself.

What gets me is the guy made a video saying if he couldn't have her, no one can. To me that is a threat, but he got 3 days. For not behaving in court, 3 months.

Its clear that a case can be made against that judge for how he acted and how he sentenced the guy - out of anger. Probably some grounds for appeal. I'm no legal expert, but that's how it seems to me.

But MAN, I like what the judge did.

And the thug needs to live the rest of life under a restraining order to stay away from the woman. That's a guy who could easily take his stalking to the next level and harm or kill her.

Good on you, Judge McBain.
