While it is true that services are more expensive for people without insurance, those with still must meet the deductible before insurance starts to pay for procedures and hospitalization. This means that individuals may be footing the entire cost for imaging exams and lab testing. Yes the bill is less because providers are forced to offset charges due to insurance agreements but a $1500 bill for diagnostic testing can kill someone living paycheck to paycheck.

Politics aside, I understand the man's frustration all too well.
