Help. I called an appliance repairman and when he left after commpalaining constantly

about the government and how he needed surgery for his back, I said that at least with Obamacare you can get insurance. It will be expensive but they can't shut you out. He rapidly and rabidly decried that deductibles have risen to unaffordable amounts since Obama ruined our country and he hates the Democrat Party.

Well, first off I said that there is no " Democrat" Party. That Democrat is a noun not an adjective. It is the Democratic Party. He seemed to concede but insisted that Hillary is so corrupt and I should watch the video " Hillary's America"

I said I wouldn't watch propaganda.Then I asked him If he Liked George W.

He right away disavowed Republicans but stood firm that he hated Democrats so much more.
And if I would just watch this movie and follow up researching at the library. I would see it was all true.

Omg... I hope someone here knows someone who did this so I won't have to.

I would love to actually show him the errors. I think he could be awakened or deprogrammed from this illogical hate of Hillary and us.

Anyone know about this piece of junk.

I would stay clear of him as he sounds like he could snap with that much anger about the "Democrat Party". You know where he's getting that from. If you had further discussion, I would say like is suggested above, "Donald has stiffed hundreds of workers" and give him a link to a list. Think of all the people Donald's come into contact with, and to see so many of them speak out about him?! And maybe add, 'Well that's all you should want to know about the quality of person he is, even ignoring all his weird statements, that he mixes with things people want to hear'.

Good job trying to reach others, regardless.

If your guy can't tell from the overwrought tone of the movie what a piece of distorted propaganda it is, well, hmm on his intelligence. Or at least on his bullshit detector.

D'Souza is a convicted fraudster & professional conservative propagandist/grifter. One of his main theses is how the Democratic Party are the real racists, as if it is the same party of 100 years ago. Ask your guy: is it Democrats these days who display & defend the Confederate flag? Or are we trying to get it removed from public sites?

I don't know the contents of the rest of the movie, so who knows what he's telling you to research at the library. But I think you should research Dinesh D'Souza and enlighten your repairman about HIM.

hit piece. So many historical changes were conveniently or stupidly left out. Like southern strategy used to get those southern white Dixiecrats to vote as Republicans using racist views to draw them in. How the parties have changed and the demonizing of Hillary is bombastically childish.

Wow, thanks so much. Saved me and now I can truthfully say know the tone of this movie. The entire film when used to make a point instead of telling the truth. I call this movie B.S..

if he can't afford payments for insurance? If his back is ever repaired, will he be able to rehab without working?

Poor guy, he faces a world of hurt voting against his own interests. I run into the same type individuals that decry Social Security and Medicare not realizing those are the two programs that keep them in their houses.

Wait til he finds out how large those bills are without deductibles.

Many find themselves unable to access their healthcare because of high deductibles. Many opt to suffer than seek medical attention because they simply cannot afford diagnostic tests which are required to diagnose. You cite the cost of healthcare without insurance. While it is true that services are more expensive for people without insurance, those with still must meet the deductible before insurance starts to pay for procedures and hospitalization. This means that individuals may be footing the entire cost for imaging exams and lab testing. Yes the bill is less because providers are forced to offset charges due to insurance agreements but a $1500 bill for diagnostic testing can kill someone living paycheck to paycheck.

Politics aside, I understand the man's frustration all too well.

just finishing up a 2 year stint of my wife having cancer along with sepsis(?). $9K deductibles that have been very hard to meet with insurance.

Currently going thru a bad time with my shoulder, thankfully I am now on medicare and WOW so far the diagnostics are really affordable compared to that.

He is obviously smart enough to learn a trade and run his own business, but not erudite enough to see past old GrOPer schemes and lies. He can't see how their capitalism-on-steroids has caused the healthcare crisis and how they forced so many compromises (including states participating) in the ACA that it eventually would become too expensive to maintain.

He needs to expand his worldview, look at how other nations provide superb healthcare without ripping off its citizens to pay CEOs hundreds of millions.

would imagine he is looking at financial ruin....

expensive hospital
long recovery with lifting restrictions and movement restrictions

own business...not gonna be fixing anything for quite a bit.

so he feels a need to hate someone

when my wife was dying she vented at my parents...she couldn't be
angry wife me--i had to take care of her.
or her mom---she needed her support.
so she hated my mom and dad cause i think she understood they would know her son longer than
she would
and they did

the tax laws are indeed painful for sole proprietors and small family LLCs. The laws were written for giant corporations with the money to burn (and deduct). Add all that to being in pain and it's a recipe to just hate everyone in government.

our president berated by one of their employees. Tell them that just as he should not be preaching to you, he shouldn't be complaining about the ACA either. You don't need that kind of shit brought into your home. He felt ENTITLED to impose his political views on you while he was supposed to be a fucking professional.

These fucking bullies don't want to be reasoned with. You will be able to go down the bunny trail of 'do their homework and *submit* it to them for their approval' but it won't make a damn bit of difference. They don't want to be reasoned with. They want to be TOLD.

not to be so brainwashed and would like to show him that this movie, he really wants me to see, is messing with his reasoning.

It may be fruitless, but if these false ideas should ever make him react or respond to another person in a hateful or biased way, it will be hurtful.

I see want you mean about how the RW'ers close off to anything that challenges what they have been taught and I have been down this road before and maybe I'm foolish for trying, but he seems reachable.

I'm glad you replied to my post it does make me consider my mission.

I am of the mind that if you plant the seed of logical reasoning and encourage it with provable facts it will open even the hardest of nuts.

We shall see.
