Could Electronic Voting Machine Software Be Programmed to Alter the Outcome of an Election?

Please read the linked article on voting machine vulnerabilities. So important to GOTV to overcome possible corrupted code that can switch 1-2% or more of the votes cast. Especially worried about down
ballot senate races which may be closer than the presidential race. Peace from long-time verified voting advocate, Hannah[link:http://votingmachines.procon.org/view.answers.php?questionID=000270|

That's why we need machines with PAPER TRAILS. These machines are entirely unauditable. Recounts become pointless.

Why can't they give us a receipt like the grocery stores do? That way if there's an error you can notify someone right away and get it corrected.

13. The receipt may not represent how your vote is actually registered in the "black box".

Without a paper ballot there is no way to audit the voting machine or recount individual votes.

Edited to add: "the voting machine"

..the margins need to exceed expectations.
I believe Dems will carry more votes than polls tell us today. We do all we can to GOTV.

No candidate, Party Leader or Campaign Manager says they lost because of flipped votes.

Since electronic voting was introduced, Republicans have won 3 times (2004, 2010, 2014) and Democrats have won 3 times (2006, 2008 and 2012).

Concentrate on the old-fashioned ways Republicans steal elections.

7. Not saying a candidate has lost because of it. Just that the vote flipping has occurred.

Our margins need to be a greater spread to also make contesting, should Trump do so, more difficult.

Yes vote flipping has occurred. Has it caused a loss in a close race? None that I know of.

8. Aha! Yes. I have a working theory that donplorable is acting the way his is

because he knows russians are going to hack election for him(he has the receipt or IOU probably more likely).

After reading several posts about how he is also a major "projector", he claims YOU are probably doing what HE is DEFINITELY doing, and add in all the people who are now on record saying the election is not "rigged" and/or "can't be rigged". I see a plan.

He has election fraud, by way of russian hackers, to help him all rigged up and ready to go but with him being so far behind how's that gonna make sense. Or perhaps he figured the best way to win and obliterate dems was a 2-3pt win when trailing by 10+/-? Well, now he has credible people on all sides assuring everyone the election is NOT rigged, because dems are NOT RIGGING election, when his scheme pops into play there is a built-in defense for the what-would-then-be real/acutal RIGGING.

Here's hoping I'm completely wrong.

12. 18181818. Wasn't that the tally in each district for Senator Max Cleland when he lost?

We need massive turnout. Thin margins are where the really bad stuff can happen, imo.

What would stop them from making a larger switch? That's the problem with these conspiracy theories. They rely on there being these devious masterminds who then have to be stupid about the same thing they we're smart about.
