Gallup: Support for Legal Marijuana Use Up to 60% in U.S. (Original Post) workinclasszero Oct 2016 OP
It's actually higher, I'd wager. In some places consumers still too afraid to admit it. TonyPDX Oct 2016 #1

or a president willing to go there.

Here in Oregon, we watched as Colorado and Washington experimented with legal recreational MJ, then had our own vote. It took a couple of tries, but we got it right. Now I'm like a kid in a candy store.

You ain't kidding. I'm amazed at the selection of goodies out there right now. Would you like some Marijuana Pop to go with your Marijuana Chocolate Bar? Perhaps a bag of Marijuana Cheetos on the side?

The harvest is in and curing. I rarely smoke the stuff but it is a fun plant to grow outside. Most people I know have way more than they need, kind of like zucchini, leave it on somebody's porch, ring the doorbell and run

Even in places like Washington, where it's legal, dispensaries are facing all sorts of obstacles.

They have to run their large scale business, on a Cash Only basis, due to credit card companies refusing their business, and banks also not willing to run afoul of the Federal laws, which still consider weed as bad and as illegal as heroin, meth or crack.

Then there's the issue about dispensaries themselves. Again, the ones in Washington are having lots of problems trying to find locations willing to lease, and neighborhoods where there are no ordinances prohibiting such establishments. I know, because here in lovely Right Wing Orange County, CA, a couple of cities near me passed laws prohibiting any dispensary from operating, and I imagine that will remain the case, even if/when the legal marijuana proposition passes.

Right now, there are perhaps 30 or 40 delivery services I can call, but if I want to visit an actual dispensary, I'd have to drive a good 20 miles. I tell you, when the proposition passes, I'd love to find a place down here that would allow a dispensary, because it will be a goldmine, given the complete lack of anything nearby.

In Portland, theyre easy to find. Eastern Oregon, no existent.

But that is a local ordinance thing. And probably analagous to counties that remain "dry" nearly a century after alcohol prohibition.

Are you speaking of personal knowledge regarding Washington, or hearsay? I know there are lots of establishments up there, just like in OR.

You are correct in that we need to open up the banking system to legal cannabis businesses. However, despite the impediments legalization has been wildly successful in both states up here.

That's what I am!! I often hear weed is "easy to find." Not if you don't really have any connections. For me it's very hard to find.😫😫😝
