UPDATE: I think that DUer Donkees, identified it as joe-pye weed. Thank you all. DUers are the best!
Hi, I am trying to identify the following plant, which is overgrowing a nature trail nearby.
I am coming up with nothing. Could someone please help identify this plant for me?
I'd greatly appreciate it.
Thanks, TBA

Southern New Jersey, near Philly. I would have to go back out in the daylight to inspect for that.

It's a wooded nature trail, in a firm soiled wooded area, weather 60-90's, and not arid or wet.

Can't tell from the pix - is it a vine?
Does it have rhizomes?
