back policies that they know are demonstrably incorrect?

Im beginning to believe that the soul of a survived GOP is a libertarian-social center set free of the religious busy-bodies (nobody cares what drugs take or what you do with your naughtybits) surrounded by a kind of social/economic fairness (wall street ISNT gonna regulate itself) and that understands that regulation of the market and protection of the environment are NECESSARY Kantian 'evils' in a Utilitarian society.

I think Steve might be ahead of the curve here.

When he put Palin up in the spotlight it was a gamble and it came up snake-eyes for him, because I think he underestimated the levels of Deplorableness in his own Party's base, and I think it was an eye-opening lesson for him. I think he knows now how bitter the medicine will really have to be, and he isnt afraid of it anymore (he's seen it up close and personal)

with a hot mic and live cameras he called Trumps "economic agenda" "batshit crazy" and a minute later said "The GOP needs Trump like they need herpes". Which in my mind negates his helping to bring Sarah Palin into the national focus.
