I attended the Trump rally last night part 2

Everyone inside the field house was happy and friendly, and tolerated the warmup speeches pretty well. There were outbreaks of USA and Lock Her Up, but nothing uglier than that. This is Bucks County, after all.

I became aware that I am an elitist snob. 90% of the attendees looked stupid and not even blue-collar. There were a lot of kids there, especially many young men who did not look old enough to vote. My grandmother would say the crowd was trashy.

Donald appeared, and everybody went crazy. He gave his usual speech, with a few details I hadn't heard before. Because we are in the Philadelphia suburbs, a sop to Philly was that he would reopen the Philadelphia Naval Yard because he wants to make 350 battleships (!), and a slap at Common Core, which, to me--well, so what.

The crowd roared their approval at the usual shit, the renegotiated trade agreements and preventing Mexicans from taking our jobs and building a wall (does he think Radical Islamic Terrorists come into the US via Mexico, or what?). I stood there thinking, I would bet 80% of this crowd buys their clothes and other consumer goods from Wal-Mart, where low prices are a direct result of our trade agreements with China, Viet Nam and Pakistan. A trade agreement promoting American-made goods would result in pricing a lot of the things these Trump supporters buy right out of their reach.

I further doubt that anyone in that crowd had ever lost a job to a Mexican.

And needless to say, the crowd was 100% white.

The only thing Trump seems to know about naval warships is that he actually sank one by calling out B-6.

Ford class aircraft carriers due to expenses and cost over runs. Our battleships are now museums.

A modern carrier has a crew o/a 5,000.

We have enough fire power to turn a significant portion of the planet into a sheet of black glass.

As usual Trump is bull shitting. The Philadelphia shipyard is history and anyone with an IQ larger than his shoe size knows this. However, his supporters do love their shit sandwiches.

America is a free country, and that means you can map us on a bell curve, and his fans are a sampling of the lower end. He has other followers who will vote for him out of spite, but won't attend the rallies.

I'd be surprised if half of the morons at the rallies can get it together to get registered and actually show up to vote.

They believe whatever comes out of their TV, and they like him because he asks for no critical thinking. That's what he was going for, and he's good at it.
