Billboard from dating website tells immigrants to find a "sugar daddy" to avoid deportation

AUSTIN, Texas (KEYE) - A new billboard off interstate 35 is causing a lot of dispute among Austin's citizens.

The advertisement hints undocumented immigrants should join the Arrangementfinders.com dating site to avoid deportation.

The sign reads, "Undocumented Immigrant? Before You Get Deported, Get a Sugar Daddy,” and it is just off highway I-35 near Frontage Road.

Jacob Webster, the online's site CMO says he decided to run the ad “in response to Donald Trump's promise to deport all 11 million of the nation’s undocumented immigrants.”

“ArrangementFinders.com skews heavily towards Hispanic women, with that demo making up over 31% of all the females on our site nationally and over 53% in Austin,” said Webster.

The company launched back in 2009, and now has about 3.9 million members in the US, Canada, UK, and Australia.

Even though ArrangementFinders.com did not mean the billboard to seem racist, many are questioning the provocative message.

Looks like a RW add masquerading as a dating site, maybe even entrapment Foggyhill Oct 2016 #5

Sounds like BS. A friend signed up there a few months ago, and she said there were only six other women in the Seattle area on the site.

unless the arrangement includes a honest to god marriage (and even then there are many hoops to jump through to become a permanent resident and citizen).. how does finding a sugar daddy help an undocumented person?

They'd have to go back, get a K-1 visa, re-enter, get married, apply for status... and then during the interview, there will be some difficult questions.

Among the interview questions are "how did you meet?" If the answer is "responding to a solicitation for undocumented workers to join arrangementfinders.com", I don't think the interview is going to go well.

Whoever owns that website is the worst kind of scum for trying to exploit vulnerable women.
