can I just ask what this might to do the Dem GOTV effort?
Particularly among the less enthused, Republican crossovers and undecided voters making a last minute decision?
If they think this is in the bag for Clinton, will they bother to vote? And what impact would that have on the results?

(962 posts)For all of the crap Don the Con has spewed, an unquestionable winning margin is the least we can do in return.

Beyond that, I can't answer your questions. If anyone stays home or gets lazy, they are a disappointment to the caring citizenry.

(50,986 posts)now. Early voting is looking good. A lot of people are standing in long lines to vote in areas traditionally favorable to blue candidates.
Clinton early on set up an extremely formidable ground game. Trump didn't bother. He only has a few field offices in several states. I think the advantage in get-out-the-vote is to Clinton, while Trump is going to suffer badly for lack of one.

But that is good news.

I would like to see evidence of that as well.
People like to be on the winning team.

(3,660 posts)CA and HI are two of the most certain D wins, and no poll in 2012 suggested it was even vaguely close.
The final margin of victory was 10 and 15 better than the final polling aggregate at RCP respectively. If lopsided polls depressed turnout, it was for the losers not the winners.
The best turnout state of all is MN which hasn't gone R since 72, and was in no polled danger of doing so in any of its recent nation-leading turnout elections.
Ask yourself whether there is a greater incentive to be part of a certain victory or a certain defeat.

(82,383 posts)I do not think that mentality it all that common - it is amazingly dumb. People want to participate. A lot of people feel like it is their duty. Who would think it's in the bag and I don't have to bother - that is so silly. What if everybody did that? Who does that?
