The Presidents primary message should be "Elect a Congress willing to work with me."

If you want me to do great things, I need a congress that will help me.

Then go on a 20 minute rant about how the country has been held hostage by the Republicans, and telling the voting public it's up to us to fix that.

Lather, Rinse, repeat at every opportunity. The notion of fixing congress should be foundational to any sloganeering.

Maybe cut it down to a 5 minute rant, so it can be played over and over again in tv ads across this great nation for the entire month of October!!

I'm all for this idea!!

First use full rant, for first week? THEN shorten, maybe use first sentence of each paragraph in full rant, so theme and details will be recalled.

…some Democratic Super PACs run ads agains the Koch brothers, too. They are part of the Republican package deal… Why not run against them and their agenda, too? They are a bunch of "mean old Mr. Potters" and I'm sure if they get enough publicity, folks will want to vote against their team and their team.

I'm asking seriously, and this may have been discussed on DU already… But, what's the downside of a strategy calling these right-wing billionaires out while campaigning?

Will he do it? I'm doubtful. The President seems far more concerned about getting re-elected than with getting more Democrats in congress. A lot of what I see from him, overall, is pretty insular and that attitude goes back to when he first took office. He does not play well with Democrats, IMO. I think he's ideologically to the right of so many of them, it's easier to deal with the repukes than the flak he's going to get from his own party. Even on occasion Pelosi has called him on his bullshit.

Still, there are a few months left. I don't see him having run out of time for this particular strategy.

He just, of course, has to do it.

Or he can continue to lump Democrats along with Republicans in his universal condemnation of congress. I think he's going to do that. The man just does not have the spine to get up and really call a spade a spade against the Republicans. I don't think even at election time.

Again, we'll see. Either something is going to happen soon or it's not. It really breaks down to either push all of congress away and blame it as a unit or go after the Repukes, specifically. And, again, from everything I've seen, the many is physically not capable of condemning Repukes in congress without compulsively including "on both sides of the aisle." I have no fucking idea how that works in his head.

There has got to be some reasoning on his part, I just don't see it. Obama being re-elected but with the same or fewer Dems in congress is going to get is a lot more of the same.
