It's Rubio. Bet the ranch on it.

http://news.yahoo.com/sen-marco-rubio-talks-mormon-childhood-235224686--abc-news-politics.html

In his new autobiography " An American Son," which goes on sale Tuesday, Florida Sen. Marco Rubio, writes about his Christian faith and a fact that is not widely known - as a child he and his cousins were baptized in the Mormon church.

"We were in the Mormon church I guess by the time I turned eight," he told ABC News' David Muir.

Rubio, 41, was living with his family in Las Vegas at the time and took a liking to the musical group the Osmonds.

"The Osmonds were pretty popular back then, especially among Mormons, but I think among a lot of Americans. But we had a group called the Sunshine Cousins," Rubio said. "It was me, my sister and my cousin and we, we would lip sync basically."

T-Paw's only hope now is that Rubio is lying about this just like he did about his poor put-upon parents fleeing the evil commies in Cuba.

The way I read this quote it looks like he is saying that Mormons are different than Americans.

Isn't this a funny way to say what he was saying or am I just reading too much into it?

Shouldn't he have said "...but I think among a lot of non-Mormons" instead?

But a) she dared to oppose Robme and the repuke establishment on immigration, and b) (duh) she isn't Mormon. I suspect the timing of this release of information by Rubio is anything but accidental.

He's only been in the Senate for 2 years; no major legislation. A lot of financial skeletons in his closet. Possible birther issue. Other Latinos won't necessarily embrace a conservative Cuban-American. Jeb is his mentor... if the convention or a Romney candidacy is looking like a trainwreck, Jeb may advise him to wait until '16.

who should do fine, I'd need an angle, a story. And I guess saying I got the Latino vote because I picked Rubio would be as good a story as any.

They already flew that one with Little Boots and no one in the media or anywhere else noticed they were lying their asses off until later.

Being as how Republicans love projection. Rubio is everything they claim to hate about Obama. Never worked in the private sector, career in government. Two LESS years in the Senate than Obama had when he ran for President. How many times did the GOP try to label Obama as inexperienced?

Of stealing it. The Repukes will say the Hispanics voted for Rmoney because of Rubio. IMO if Rubio joins Rmoney, it means he is guaranteed a win. They WILL steal it, and point to the Hispanic vote, and all the money. I don't think Rubio would blow his chance in 2016 to be on the ticket with Rmoney in 2012, without some kind of guarantee.

We see him pretty regularly on local news and such, given where we are, and he consistently says he is not running. Of course, that's not an oath, but he isn't stupid. He has political capital with people who don't follow politics as closely as DU folks, and he can blow it now on Romney, or continue saving up for a potentially safer 2016 run. I believe he'll choose the latter.

might do something that might spark a surge toward his campaign.

I think Rand Paul, or Nikki Haley likely, Paul more likely than Haley, because, again with Haley, we have a less than one term governor, ala Palin.

Then again Pawlenty (sp?) is being mentioned, and could be just as strategic.

If Romney is smart, he will take the guessing game as far as reasonably possible, an almost effortless way to focus attention on his campaign.

the GOP is using the classic fake-out to prevent any research on Rubio before he's tapped, that is, to say he isn't being vetted so nobody spends any time digging up information to be used against him and Romney in the future.

Romney needs a real conservative. Tea Baggers think Rubio turned against them the moment he took office. They call him a Teo-Con. Birthers also think he's in ineligible, since both his parents were born in Cuba, and were not citizens at time of birth.
