When I listen to the GOP and its austerity agenda ala the Ryan Budget and I hear a GOP candidate complain about the media writing about the poor and their struggles, it reminds me of a scene in "Flyboys" just before the new squadron goes up for battle over France in WWII with the Lafayette Escadrille.
The wing commander comes up to two of the new flyboys and hands them a 38 caliber six round pistol. They ask what do we need that for since we use our machine guns against the enemy. The officer replies, "Well, it's for your use for yourself." They ask, "What do you mean?" He says, "Well, if your plane gets hit and it is on fire you have three options. Option on is that you can go part way down with the plane on fire and burn to death. You can go all the way down with the plane on fire burning up until you hit the ground. Or the other option is that you can use the gun to shoot yourself before you burn to death".
So if you are not one of the GOP's little darlings and have a problem and fall into one of the categories and need help, they will be glad to give you a gun. Bullets are cheaper than the care you need.
