As far as it looks right now the GOP is signaling they will burn down the country if Hillary wins. What that means to me is that they will shut down the government in every possible way. And they will work to run Hillary out of office even before she is elected. And I do not know about anyone else but I am sick of their damned surrogates, their bad mouthing, their damned threats, their fucking tricks, the voter suppression, their damned lies and fabrications, character assassination and everything else they do or plan to do.
I imagine the McConnel, Ryan and their cohorts are already plotting how they will take down Hillary. How they will make her a one term president just like Obama. The colluded the day Obama was nominated and carried out their plan viciously and relentlessly.
So until we totally whip their bigoted asses politically and let them know who is boss we will be facing the same crap we did with Obama and worse. They are fully intent on creating a national crisis every minute of the day until they get their way.
For Chirst's sake look at what they already have destroyed in this country. When you have so many GOPPERS saying they want to see Hillary assassinated and their leadership is silent you must understand that the hell you are dealing with. The GOP leadership supports that rhetoric by their damned silence.
Then Trump faces a protester panics and says someone has tried to murder him. All made up.

(9,966 posts)...and very predictable. But, this time, they will also be fighting among themselves - maybe this will help the Democrats and Progressives govern.

(24,437 posts)has not seemed to have chastened them, humbled them, or made them reconsider their strategies in any way, shape, or form. There is, unfortunately, no reason to think that they will emerge from this cycle with any additional insight/introspection. Though, you would have to think that there would have to be some limit to wanting to have a near-permanent dysfunctional government.......
I'd like to think that Hillary has learned from the last 8 years, during which the Republicans have been relentlessly going after her again as well, and is resolved not to play around with them.

(1,254 posts)To clean house. 2018 is too close from this BITTER election for voters to forget. If the GOP wants scorched earth, they will certainly get it AGAIN. The country is fed up with nonsense. GOP better start turning around, working with Democrats for the good of the country not political parties. Voters want legislators who are interested in working together for the good of the country FOR ALL OF US. We want adults, not squabbling CHILDREN.
NO MORE of this: THIS: OR 2018:

(36,509 posts)I used to not let politics or religion influence my opinion of people, but now, when I hear someone is a republican, I think less of them. It reflects a world view that I think is selfish & privileged. I'm not rude to them nor do I call them out, but a little voice says, "Oh, you're a republican."

(16,646 posts)I hate to say it, but the future looks very bleak. They're already talking about the "3 i's. Investigate, indict, impeach".
They have little reason to change their stripes. They'll control the House, and have the ability to obstruct extensively in the Senate. They obviously have demonstrated that they don't care how much they hurt the US. Unless and until the individuals that advance these methods are voted out of office, they will continue.
National Politics have become an industry in this country and there is way too much money to be made by GOP operatives in advancing and continuing these tactics as long as they raise money. It's not about winning, it's about making money. It's the whole "starts out as a movement and ends as a racket" thingy.

(7,365 posts)The Republican Party has won the popular vote in a Presidential election ONE SINGLE time since 1988...let that sink in for a moment. The further they double down on their archaic policies they more marginalized they become.
Perhaps when the Repubs burn down the nation in a quest to destroy Hillary that party will fracture into a LEGIT opposition moderate Republican Party and the rest can just go insane.
