My favorite Obama story

My friend Betsy was invited to the WH as the parent of a disabled child. It was a small group, met in the rose garden, about 20 people she loved him.

About 3-4 months later she visited the WH again as an officer of the Independent Booksellers Association. Apparently they take books to the WH annually (? for each new prez? not sure). They were told they might not get to meet Obama personally. Then they were taken to a room in the WH and Obama was at the door greeting them. When he got to Betsy he extended his hand and said "You probably don't remember me but we met in the rose garden a few months ago." She cracked up.

I'm gonna miss him.

A good friend who is a Gold Star wife was at the White House with her daughter for a Memorial Day brunch. When the President and First Lady entered, Michelle moved among the tables, talking to everyone attending.

When Michelle got to my friend they began talking and Michelle sat down as their conversation grew longer.

Eventually President Obama called to Michelle from across the room and tapped his wristwatch. Michelle told him he'd have to wait--they were having "mom talk."
