In a perfect world, the presidency would be decided by Americans with all-American grandparents, and they would elect Donald Trump. At least, that seems to be conservative pundit Ann Coulter's vision of a perfect world.
Ann Coulter:
If only people with at least 4 grandparents born in America were voting, Trump would win in a 50-state landslide.
Some pointed out that Coulters tweet sounds similar to what Nazi Germany envisioned when the Nuremberg race laws were enacted in the Third Reich. In 1935, Nazis announced the new laws stripping citizenship from Jews, or anyone with three or four Jewish grandparents, according to the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum website. The law also banned Jews from marrying or having sexual relations from those identified as German.
Others noted that in such a case, even Trump wouldn't be allowed to vote. His mother is Scottish. Trump's children wouldn't be allowed to vote either as his ex-wife, Ivana, and his wife, Melania, are immigrants.

On edit.
Trump is of German ancestry on his father's side and Scottish ancestry on his mother's side; all four of his grandparents were born in Europe.

(1,214 posts)All of my grandparents were born in America and I cast a ballot for Hillary. I say, if only people like Ann Coulter were voting, this wouldn't be the USA.

(24,764 posts)The only grandparent alive when I was born was my Italian maternal grandpa.
All 8 of my great-grandparents were born in Europe. So I don't give a damn what dipshit self-hating broads like Ann Coulter has to say, either.

(13,108 posts)I would not vote for Trump if he were the only person on the ballot.
Ann Coulter really doesn't know anything.
She proves it every time she opens her mouth, writes a book, or tweets.

(65,078 posts)However, i'm 60 and was born in Illinois, my parents were born in Illinois, but all 4 grandparents were born in Europe. But, all became citizens. And that somehow, in her world, would exclude me? This is shock for shock's sake. She's an idiot.

(9,350 posts)More proof of Ann Coulter's stupidity. She sent out a tweet promoting the idea that only people with 4 grandparents born in the United States should be allowed to vote without knowing the ancestry of the guy who she was supporting. So, under Coulter's plan Donald Trump would not be able to vote for himself. Not only would Trump not be able to vote for himself, his children Ivanka, Donald Jr., and Eric Trump will not be able to vote for him. Finally, his current wife and his first ex-wife would not be able to vote for him.
