I just wonder how many on DU had a post hidden in the past 6 months. I know I did.

(3,557 posts)I posted something asked my doubting her sincerity when she apologized for her Iraq War Vote.
She was my senator in 2003 when she voted for the war. I was a brand new platoon leader in January 2004 and I was deployed to iraq from feb 2004 to March 2005. That war, over the more than 12 years since I was involved in it has absolutely destroyed my life.
I returned from the war physically unhurt, by psychologically I was a wreck. 5 soldiers that were under my command were killed there and my platoon killed more than 46 people (that I know of). I personally stuffed my share of body bags and have been paying for the war ever since. I have numerous suicide attempts under my belt and I typically spend most of the summer months locked up in a psych ward. I'm 36 years old and my life is effectively over. I'm retired on disability, I hate my existence, and I'm just waiting until the day I die because of something other than my own hand. The only reason my miserable self is still around is because my wife and kids depend on my disability checks for their survival. If I die, they only get a fraction of that in survivor bennies.
Until I see any evidence that Hillary Clinton has suffered anywhere close to the extent I have for her involvement in the war I will doubt the sincerity of her apology for the war vote. I doubt she has nightmares, flashbacks, or all the intrusive thoughts that go along with experiencing combat first hand. She has no understanding of the impact war has on people like those who have been there firsthand.
