(18,402 posts)So they had this new thing we've never had to do before. As we entered, a poll worker was handing out clipboards with pens and a form to fill out--name, address, signature. I was ahead of my husband in line, and when I finished filling it out went to the next guy at the desk to turn it in. He informed me that I first had to take it back to another lady, who was confirming it all on a laptop. Then he said, "Oh, sorry, we're already taking care of that man behind you first." I looked at the man, who happened to be my husband, and said, "That's OK, I've been taking care of that man for 43 years already!"
Everybody laughed, and then when the first booth opened up, the poll workers said that, this time, I should go first. Hubby had to wait another 3 or 4 minutes to get a booth. We had already filled out cheat-sheet ballots to take with us, so there was no need for him to be checking me or following my lead. Besides, our booths weren't even near each other.

(50,278 posts)couldn't vote for their father because none of them were registered to vote? Either that or the wife is voting for Hillary.
