Kasich appoints former OSU quarterback to State Board of Education

Yesterday afternoon in a press release from the Governor’s Office, they announced that Governor Kasich had appointed Stanley Jackson to the State Board of Education to fill the remainder of the term of the recently retired Dennis Reardon.

According to the Dispatch’s Joe Vardon, Kasich’s office could not produce a resume for the Buckeye QB:

The Kasich administration announced Jackson’s appointment at 5:15 p.m. Monday. Kasich spokesman Rob Nichols said the staff could not immediately produce Jackson’s resume, but that one would be available Tuesday.

Nichols said Jackson was selected because he’s a father of four, was involved in a Columbus-area charter school, is from a rural district (a requirement), and “shares the governor’s vision on education.”
