Donald Trump Shoots the Breeze With the Prime Minister of Japan

OMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMG

So the prime minister of Japan flies to New York to meet with Trump, and Trump shows up to shoot the breeze with him all by himself. No advisors. No State Department briefing. No prep. Just Trump and the Japanese team.

Oh, and Ivanka. Why? Here's my incredibly depressing guess: Trump is convinced that Japanese men consider it a sign of respect to have a pretty assistant in the room who listens attentively and silently. So he nabbed Ivanka and told her to act as decoration. This is a common belief among a certain kind of businessman, and Trump is that certain kind.

It's the surest sign yet of the massive corruption we can expect during the next four years when the ostensible head of Trump's business empire (Ivanka) is sitting in on meetings with foreign heads of state.

Perhaps if she was working on her laptop with Outlook open then maybe people would give a damn.

Does anyone else think this is odd? Is Ivanka the acting First Lady?

it's so ridiculous! Between this and the casual conversation with Theresa May, I didn't know whether to laugh, cry or curl up in a ball.

Did the prime minister come to the U.S. to meet the new president? Why wouldn't our current state Dept be involved? And having Ivanka there is just so wrong...everything about this photo is wrong...wow...

Not the religious one, but the horrible movie/TV kind. "The Omen 3" and "Omega Code" and " Left Behind."

I think it's an obvious case of possession - Liberace is back!

seriously. Honestly, what could he possibly have to say to them that won't make him sound like the total ignorant fool that he is? He knows NOTHING about world affairs. He probably doesn't even know where Japan IS!

12. Look at what is on that gilded table: bottled water and Perrier. No glasses. No coffee service.

No cookies. Nothing but bottled water.

THIS is hospitality to a great ally? Jesus Christ on a trailer hitch. Peasants in mud huts would do better.

God this is embarrassing.
