Schumer shouldn't just "raise questions" about Sessions, he should oppose him

there's nothing that Sessions could say in a confirmation hearing that will outweigh the statements he's made and the things he's done.

Democrats have got to reflect the legitimate fears of having an avowed racist in that position and not just try to sound reasonable about it.

I mean, what if Democrats treated unqualified nominees like Republicans have treated our qualified ones?

Can our leaders do that? They might connect more if they did and they'd certainly get more media attention than they do by trying to seem reasonable.

Schumer Promises Close Vetting of Sessions, Wants Explanation From Flynn

Top Capitol Hill Democrats are taking aim at President-elect Donald Trump’s latest round of appointments, with Senate Democratic leader Chuck Schumer vowing a thorough vetting of Senate colleague Jeff Sessions as a possible attorney general and calling statements made by the president-elect’s pick for a top national security post “very, very troubling.”

Mr. Schumer, who will be the Democratic leader in the Senate next year, said that he had cause for concern about Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn’s previous comments about Islam. Gen. Flynn, former head of the Defense Intelligence Agency under President Barack Obama and now Mr. Trump’s nominee to be national security adviser in the new White House, once wrote on Twitter that fear of Muslims was “rational.”

I completely agree with you but unfortunately, I fear that Schumer and many other Democratic Senators will cave. They don't seem to realize this isn't business as usual.

I would love to be proven wrong but I sadly fear that won't happen.

Thanks, even when I was lurking for quite awhile, I always felt that DU was a big time haven. And in light of Trump's election, it is even more of one.
