So about all those emails asking for money

I've been receiving an unprecedented number of emails soliciting money to "oppose Trump."

There are a few organizations to which i contribute what little I can, when I can. They include: The Southern Poverty Law Center; Planned Parenthood; The ACLU; and Doctors Without Borders. These are what I consider to be the most worthy organizations of whatever I can spare.

But in the past few days, I've been receiving emails that play to, and try to generate, more fear of Trumpism than we already have. Some of them, I've never heard of.

So here's my alert. Watch out for people who are trying to profit from our deepest fears. Some may be real. But I can't help but believe that there are vultures out there who are trying to profit from the horror that has befallen us all.

"trump" is an actual brand--and that man would certainly take the opportunity to make money off it. He simply doesn't care

Would not surprise me at all if most were scams.

Be careful where you send your money and your info, folks.

Life's gonna suck for a while, at least.

Partners in Health, Americans United for Separation of Church and State, NAACP Legal Defense Fund.. they'll need us now more than ever just as we'll need them.

of them, have learned over many decades what works. If they don't take advantage of bad news (fears) to fund-raise, there's a long drought while times are good or neutral and we don't even think of them, or we ignore their pleas because, after all, everything's good.

It's irritating, but understandable, and those pleas are almost certainly legitimate and can be easily checked with their websites. If we want them around when we need them, we have to support them through good and bad.

It's virtually impossible to check out some of these new ones.

If you're going to contribute, stick with the established ones with good reputations.

Someone above suggested that some of these new organizations are "Collection agencies for Trump." I can't disagree.
