A few years ago, we went through a horrendous custody battle

and let me tell you....it will take you to the deepest and darkest places of your soul.
The only thing that I could say was that they best be glad that I was sane!
I will preface this with "we won"....inasmuch as anyone "wins" these things. It came with a huge price.
The courts and judges in custody issues are the most corrupt on the bench.
Parental Alienation is a real thing.
And it is DEFINITELY a "pay to play" arena. When you run out of money, you lose your kids. Period. You don't pass go, you don't collect $200.
Anyone who has ever been through one of these--I am sorry. They suck. And you are never the same afterward. Never.
I was reading that the man in San Antonio shot the cop was going through a custody battle.
I knew exactly why he did what he did....and can almost feel sorry for him because I can understand how bad it got for him.
I would like to see reform in the family courts that systematically remove children from loving parents for alleged and unproven misdeeds and punish them unjustly without any recourse or way to prove yourself "fit" once the judge makes the decision that he doesn't like you.
I have a friend who went through this and still after 5 years is unable to see her kids. I know for a FACT that she didn't do anything that was alleged but the truth doesn't matter in these cases. Her ex-husband's brother works for the local sheriff department in California and used the corrupt California DFS as their weapon against her and she never even lived in California. She has "lost" one of the kids to Parental Alienation. They haven't been able to break the other one.
When you take something away from someone and leave them with nothing to lose....bad things can happen to innocent people who get in their path when they snap. That is what happened in San Antonio.
