Would Trump Use The National Guard To Suppress Protest.

Trump being booed at all will send him into a rage. What will he do with these protests if they grow. And what will he do when sanctuary cities defy ICE?

We are already seeing GOP politicians, Fox, and RW radio calling protesters terrorists, thugs, paid protester, pro ISIS et al. We are already seeing the MSM setting the state to help give Trump a reason to quell the anarchic protesters. And we will most likely see armed Trump jumpers on the prowl.

I am concerned that the GOP and it allies will do violence and blame the protest movement.

Until recently I believed the country had learned a lesson from the Kent state massacre ... given the state of the US I am no inclined to believe that a large part of the US would think it was a good idea

Be violent or do much of the stuff cops do, most of them are just regular people that didn't sign up to oppress protesters.

Cops I have no idea what their motivations are but they are probably more dangerous than the national guard. I guess there is the Kent State example but cops do that kind of thing every month.

I'm just speaking from my experiences in active duty Army who the vast majority of people were completely different from cops, even Military Police did drugs, break the rules as much as anyone but in uniform will pull you over for going 3 miles over the speed limit. CID is more like the police of the Army, especially for more serious crimes.

I thought those were police there.

I don't know why a weekend warrior would want to be bothered with having to go to a protest though I can't speak for everyone but many I'd imagine have a bigger problem detailed for this than they would the protest. I'd think polics would be more effective at oppressing a protest. They already do kettling, roll out with tanks and more armor than troops wear.

The president can federalize the guard - from Wiki: On September 24, 1957 President Dwight D. Eisenhower federalized the entire Arkansas National Guard in order to ensure the safe entry of the Little Rock Nine to Little Rock Central High School the following day. Governor Orval Faubus had previously used members of the guard to deny the students entry to the school.

This was modified in 2008, Plaw 110-181, but still places the Guard under the DoD, hence the President.

that the National Guard is not large enough to do anything about it.

Let him be the winner bigly of having the most protestors.
