The Twitter war that began when President-elect Donald Trump fired off angry tweets Saturday morning aimed at the cast of Broadway's Hamilton hit an unexpected target in Canada.

Actor Brandon Victor Dixon, speaking on behalf of the cast of Hamilton, directed a post-curtain call speech at Vice President Elect Mike Pence, who attended the Friday night show, thanking him for coming and asking him to work on behalf of "all of us." Trump wrote that the cast of the Tony Award-winning musical, which has drawn acclaim for its diverse and inclusive portrayal of the founding of the United States, had been "very rude" to Pence. In his second tweet, he demanded an apology. In a third tweet, he repeated his demand for an apology and called the show "overrated."
