(1,429 posts)Not a Stein fan by any means, BUT, my opinion of her has shot up a lot.

(10,173 posts)If there was no recount or audit, there would be questions about this election forever and ever as if Russian interference wasn't reason enough to be suspicious..
Trump Camp should be grateful frankly.

(5,624 posts)They will check samples of votes throughout the state and recount those. I guess a spot audit. If anomalies are shown then they'll do a full recount.
So - First they audit, then recount EITHER with diff machine or directly by hand. IF differences in the numbers then a full recount.

(35,326 posts)I would
And so would many others
Unfortunately i am not in a position to do it
Fortunately Jill Stein is
She will definitely benefit from this but we might as well
This feeling of powerlessness is rough

(12,447 posts)Just not by Jill Stein....we are probably being lead towards false returns wherein we have wasted hard earned money and valuable time.

(1,673 posts)Indeed she is selfless in her pursuit of an honest and accurate election.
I find her act noble as it serves no personal objective for her or her political party. On the contrary, the audit and recount of the states in question could only benefit Hillary personally and the greater good of our nation collectively. I am very proud to have voted for Jill and even more so now.

(1,353 posts)Hope it gets done and at least will be a peace of mind that this was clean...or even better, not clean and let justice prevail...
Some here were saying she was deceitful in asking for 2.5 first and now more... She really wasn't: she stated the cost of the filing fees for the 3 states and maybe thought she wouldn't get it? Sure she's taking advantage of the anger out there but it benefits everyone so no harm in my opinion...
I say get this train moving...

(16,829 posts)I don't think it would have been wise to start out by asking for a huge sum like $7million without knowing how much support there would be for it. Now that its going well and she knows there is a lot of support out there, she is going for the full amount it might take to do all 3 states - and its not an exact number.

(14,176 posts)instead of limiting it to card carrying Democrats.
Try and separate the fact that any third party that leans left will be a thorn in the side of the Democratic party and what they actually are saying. Yes they are a pain to Democrats in regards to taking away votes. In a democracy, that's what happens, there is always someone or some party that thinks they can do a better job and have the right to ask the public if they agree.
And the Green Party is an international party that pushes for environmentally sensitive legislation and egalitarian society.
No, I would not have voted for her this election, as it was too important to dump trump. But that does not negate the fact the the Green platform meshes very well with the ideals of traditional Democratic members.
What part of their platform do you disagree with?
We need a world wide coming together of forward thinking, climate change aware, progressives. If you have something against a policy of hers, by all means share. We should be debating this.
But personal insults, calling someone a "horrible human being" I save for those that really are like the President-Elect.

(12,447 posts)I just want to Warn fellow DU' ers that I sense this is a Pie'd Piper's path...in my gut feelings....
I support the mission, believe there was a series of voting shenanigans at a minimum...but we need a trustworthy leader. Jill Stein is not that person for me....Hang on to your money folks. We don't have a trust with Stein....

(1,673 posts)Your description fits him almost perfectly. In fact I find them dead on accurate. I do however, take great exception to your assessment of the candidate I voted for, Jill Stein. Do you care to back ANY of your assertions or accusations up? I find your opinions to be inflammatory, false, and baseless.

(15,282 posts)So while I appreciate some healthy skepticism, and have a good portion myself, we can't really draw any conclusion, positive or negative, from the filing not having happened yet.
Tomorrow, we'll see.
