The important part is how the numbers are calculated.

For example, the Secret Service agents get paid regardless of their physical location.

These numbers are not significantly different than any other president with a family.

They have to spend millions in construction to shore up his office and home in the towers-figure out what to do about the 30 floors in between them... and implement ultra secure screen of every person or thing that comes into his tower for the full four years 24/7.
Every day, every person every item gets screened. They're trying to figure it out but it's going to take a lot of work and money since he has both residential and commercial tenants. It's screwing up the neighborhood already, retail sales have plummeted because of them closing streets and sidewalks. If that's a regular occurrence it will kill Saks Fifth Avenue. This already hurts a lot of mid income NYers.

Trump has a larger family than Obama (and they are grown and living on their own, so the cost will be a bit higher.)

I have no problem spending money to protect the president, president elect, and their family.

Huge and too constantly used to be bomb swept and vetted each time. it's a huge building and it's crazy to expect the gov to keep it totally secure for four years.

It should transform the Oval Office, or indeed any room in which it is placed. It just screams class.
