One thing we know now is that very few are "getting over it."
Frankly, I don't think I ever will be over it.

(16,829 posts)considering it is all being done on social media and not on mass media. 4.5 million in 36 hours is just unheard of.
So, let's just call this a down payment... let's hold off on donations pending formal action by Stein. ...Yea, I have political trust issues...

Stein in a Washington Post Interview:
"I think theres no question that vaccines have been absolutely critical in ridding us of the scourge of many diseases smallpox, polio, etc. So vaccines are an invaluable medication," Stein said. "Like any medication, they also should be what shall we say? -- approved by a regulatory board that people can trust. And I think right now, that is the problem. That people do not trust a Food and Drug Administration, or even the CDC for that matter, where corporate influence and the pharmaceutical industry has a lot of influence."

I voted for HRC and was somewhat disturbed by this comment because it is a little reckless for a presidential candidate but I wouldn't say she was a loon.

Like who?
Politicians?
Snake-oil sales boards?
(It was them who pressured congress into nearly deregulating supplements)

It was worth it to me to send some $$ her way for this. Did I throw them down the toilet? Maybe. Time will tell. But, if it works, I helped make it happen. And that would make me feel really good.

(7,968 posts)Time will tell but I think that the results of November 8th were worse than a major step backwards. That was what George W. was in 2000.
This is significantly worse.

(16,230 posts)And I think that she'll probably get that much, maybe more. Too bad she didn't put all of that effort into urging people to vote for Hillary. Still, I'm happy to see this effort.

AFAIK there are no paper ballots to count. Everything is on machines, deliberately to avoid a recount.

(44,973 posts)Polls were very close. You can aggregate 10 polls showing Clinton was going to win PA by 1 point and that's 90% (or whatever) probability of her winning. It doesn't change the fact that all these polls were close and people were way over confident for no apparent reason.
pnwmom
(108,978 posts)And she also says she isn't trying to help Hillary now. I believe her. She's raising her own profile and any money she doesn't spend on recounts can be spent for her party's purposes.

(22,913 posts)A lot of us suspect that lack of it resulted in our not having had a President Kerry rather than two terms of Bush. The issue of the potential for vote total manipulation has to be investigated and addressed - what better time to do it than now, before a President Trump gets sworn in?
DesertRat
(27,995 posts)If all Stein votes in WI had gone to Clinton, Clinton would have won the state WITHOUT a recount. Stein could/should have encouraged her supporters to vote for Clinton.

(58,724 posts)This is literally the biggest fundraiser in the history of the Green Party. She is raising more money for the Green Party through these efforts than she did throughout her entire campaign by a large margin.
Democrats are literally contributing money to a party that works actively against it.

(16,230 posts)At this moment the amount raised is $4,870,099.60.
Why 60 cents? And this isn't just one person who donated an amount ending in .60. There have been varying amounts of cents as the total has increased, and it hasn't always been round amounts like 60. Is there some symbolic amount that people are donating for some reason?

(6,169 posts)on the votes in those states. I'm not counting on turning the election around, just verifying the results and seeing where fraud may have occurred. We can't fight election fraud if we don't make an effort to see where it's happening and how. I contributed.
