The irony of debating with the right-wing on Facebook.

He was looking for a direct connection to Trump's personal allegiance to neo-nazism and I pointed out Steve Bannon and gave ample background information. For my trouble, he pointed out that Trump has a Jewish daughter, so I guess in his simple mind, that means that Trump has teflon protection from being called anti-Semitic, ergo, he can't be a neo-nazi. You would think a reasonable person would realize that a president loses plausible deniability when he surrounds himself by the Legion of Hate.

The Facebook guy also directed me to a link that headlined, "Progressives = Socialists = Communists." The irony of the Right. They question our patriotism by calling us communist when they're the ones that benefited from Putin's interference. Putin found our country's weakest link, and exploited them.

I think the mistake we make is thinking that we only have to tell them once. The sad truth is that we need to keep drumming them with these troubling hypocrisies, until they finally see it. And if not them, then the people around them.

But, seriously, nothing is too simple a point to use against these people. The obvious retort is that knowing one Jewish person is no more an indication of immunity of antisemitism, than having one black person as a friend is an indication that you're not a racist.

and Ivanka doesn't dress in the Orthodox style. Are they Conservative or Reform? Ivanka should be covering her hair.
