(17,442 posts)As the article clearly states a cable provider put porn on instead of CNN. Shame on you Independent.
I am so tired of the click bait headlines. Many people only read that headline.

(80,708 posts)30 Minutes of Hardcore Porn would be far above their normal standards of broadcast quality.

(38,316 posts)Especially on the monitors of a cable television control center.
A long time ago I worked part-time, mostly holidays and weekends, for a cable television company as the guy who made sure "The Movie Channel" was behaving. Movies were delivered to the cable television company as big video tapes that were loaded into huge Sony machines.
We also had a few smaller video cassette recorders for various local public access programs, and I also kept an eye on the satellite and head-end antenna feeds.
It was boring. I was alone in the building. In front of me was one larger monitor, larger than most home televisions of the time, and a mess of smaller monitors, some color, some B&W. I could punch up any feed to the large monitor, and I could also reconfigure feeds as necessary when something went wrong, but only after calling a supervisor.
Sometimes I'd watch The Movie Channel on the main monitor, sometimes another channel, but mostly I'd do my college homework.
This incident in Boston may be an "oops, pushed the wrong button" incident, or a disgruntled "take this job and shove it!" worker incident, but either way it's generally not a good idea to watch porn at work.
