I have noticed recently a disturbing number of uses of the word trump in sentences. The dictionary defines the word first in the context
of playing cards. The fourth as a verb to "excel, surpass, outdo".
I feel the "election" of Trump has negated any positive meaning to the word. I question anyone's use of it as tacit support of that man.
Am I sensitive to it's use and notice it more, you bet your ass I am. There are so many better word choices...such as surpass, triumph,
that I suggest that the word itself lose any positive meaning in our vocabulary....maybe forever.
I am no longer comfortable reading articles, ads or posts that use that word as something positive. Call me sensitive, call me overly
critical, call me anything you want. I am too terrified to care.

In British slang, however, to trump (intransitive verb) also means to expel gas through the anus e.g. Trumped from eating too much baked beans often in a highly audible way (as in with trailing sound).
Make TRUMPING great again!
