He is saying he wants help on the replace part. Frankly they have us by the throat here.

They will repeal and delay, which means the effective end date to Obamacare won't be until a couple years from now, probably right after the 2018 elections. Then as they try to replace it with various proposals (there are quite a few republican replacement plans to choose from) Dems will have to choose whether or not filibuster. Also, as soon as they repeal the existing marketplaces will go into meltdown mode. What insurer wants to participate in a marketplace that is going away in two years?

If we block everything they try to replace it with they will run on that in 2018 while pointing to the melting down marketplaces as proof the law needed to be repealed in the first place.

We are fucked.

Edited to add: I'm assuming they use "reconciliation" to repeal where they won't need to break a filibuster. I think it's already been established that's how they are doing the repeal part.

The truth is the ACA is very close to what the Heritage Foundation suggested in the 90s, and very close to what their republican governor did in Mass.

So unless they plan to replace it with Medicare for all, they are going to have problems finding a replacement.
