Boeing and Carrier - blue state vs red state?

I've been wondering if Trump's recent publicity blitzes with Boeing and Carrier are connected to reward and penalty for political support.

Carrier is in a state that voted for Trump and that is the home of his Vice President.

There have been reports that the Carrier deal is more about securing advantage in federal contracts for its parent company than about Carrier's jobs.

http://www.indystar.com/story/news/politics/2016/11/30/federal-contracts-likely-biggest-factor-carrier-deal/94670496/

Carrier Corp.'s decision to keep hundreds of jobs in Indianapolis had more to do with access to the federal government than state incentives, sources familiar with the deal told IndyStar.

Carrier is maintaining its Indianapolis operations largely because of the business interests of its parent company, United Technologies Corp., said John Mutz, an Indiana Economic Development Corp. board member. The IEDC awards state incentives, primarily training grants and tax credits.

Mutz, who was briefed on the state's offer to Carrier, said United Technologies "wants to make sure they maintain a favorable relationship" with the incoming Trump administration.

Meanwhile, Boeing's headquarters are in Illinois and its traditional manufacturing base is in Washington State, both of which voted for Hillary.

Is this the opening shot in a possible pattern of rewarding red states and punishing blue ones?

The CEO of Boeing called out Trump's economic stances when he was giving a speech -- so Trump sent that tweet out to punish Boeing. Apparently, 20 mins after the news story was published that reported on the above, Trump sent out his Boeing tweet.

Punishing a state doesn't really seem Trump's style.

Punishing someone he thinks dissed him, however - right in the sweet spot.

for charging tax payers a fortune to use his own plane. I have no doubt he's pissed at the CEO of Boeing, but is main purpose is further enriching himself.

immediate family are running this charade. As Al Gore hinted,he was just another Stage Prop in the Reality TV Show called Mr. Trump Screws America. Yesterday was Little Donnie trying to do his I get back at my Enemies Ten Times what they do to me. My question is,did Donnie or his friends run Short Major Shorts on Boeing? Trump and his Family only comment or move in ways that only benefit themselves financially.

If Trump and his brood didn't make a killing with this some how. And, I have no doubt that they will be coming out of the next 4 or 8 years as all billionaires multiple times over.

four years are going play out, watch and listen to TV interviews with Trump industry supporters. Just caught one with Icahn, and the EPA will be gutted, and the winners are the Oil Company owned Refineries. Second will be the elimination of blended fuels, ethanol goes by by. Had a fellow on the tube who says,Trump will cut Corporate Tax by at least fifteen percent These are just two examples of the payback to two wealthy campaign supporters.

There will be a Wealth Transfer of Trillions to occur within the next two years. Trump and Tribe are planning on a major Wealth Transfers to themselves. Trump once said last year,he would take 150 million to drop his Candidacy.

and Washington can expect more of this. The state's economy is heavily invested in trade with Asia, especially China. Does not look good.
