Law Enforcement Officials: Start taking Internet death threats seriously.

It has become a commonplace thing for people to post outright death threats against people who disagree with their positions publicly on Twitter, Facebook and other social media sites.

Law enforcement's response has been mostly to say, "Ho hum. Such people never follow through with such threats." Not so, folks. They do sometimes follow through, but the real issue is that they are emboldened to make such terroristic threats because laws against such things are not upheld.

It's time to end this. There are laws. Enforce them. It's time to do that. Once a few people end up in the local jail and face prosecution, this kind of crap will stop, for the most part.

Stop ignoring terroristic threats against people who are simply expressing their opinions online. Please.
