Donald Trump is a bigger threat to America than a nuclear bomb? Is there some kind of Act of Congress that can prevent him from taking office because of the threat that he poses? We are in danger! We are in danger! The script from the life of Adolph Hitler is being acted out on our soil. The last thing is the camps where all of us who oppose him will be sent as soon as he can get rid of the intelligence agencies. (Okay, Mfcorey1, come on back from the edge.)

(22,976 posts)...very quickly. And I can see Drumpf and his inept lieutenants making the population cower in fright, while they go off the rob the till. And remember the RW formula for success: "Privatize the income, but socialize the debt."

(14,572 posts)People here just don't get the math.
This country is split into thirds.
1/3 of us deal in facts, reality and decency.
1/3 are asshat Republicans.
1/3 are "indepedents" and those who are apolitical. These people either tune it all out and don't bother to vote or buy some aspect of Republican Bullshit. This group VERY clearly is willing to accept not only Trump, but Republicans being in power, because they either voted for him or them, or didn't vote.
This shit didn't start on November 8, Rs already had rather large margins of power in Congress and at the state level.

(14,572 posts)its pretty clear how horrific he is vs whatever mindless bullshit that people chew their cuds while mooing relative to the evil liberal boogyman.
Either way, however they get to it, the point stands.
That "middle" 1/3 breaks to stupid on steroids most often.

(28,811 posts)and they still won. i was so distraught after the election that i got klonopin for the first time in my 61 years. but the thing is to get active. there are actually more of us and we, the people, do have the power. it's going to be ugly and i do believe it will get worse before it gets better, but the result of the republicans' first outrageous power grab and ethics violation got shot down BY THE PEOPLE. don't believe it was trump's tweet that changed the outcome of that ethics vote, it was the people and their phone calls.
now i must go to work.
