"Impeachment is OFF the Table"

Can you imagine a Republican ever saying those words about a Democratic President, especially a black one? It might be a good thing to remember in todays world "good guys finish last" and Democrats are stuck with being the good guys.

of their inactions

Look forward, not backward
Don't arrest KKKarl Rove
Let the Banksters off the hook
Don't hold hearings on Cheney's secret oil meetings
and on and on and on -

they have gotten away with Everything - and now they are going to shove our faces in the plates of butter, just like Rmoney did with his kids and grandkids

Do you realize that nearly but not quite everything bad that Nixon was accused of is now legal or commonplace.

Spying on political dissidents and opponents.

Eavesdropping and wiretapping.

Unlimited anonymous funding of campaigns (provided that the funding is not obviously managed by the candidate's campaign).

Political assassinations (drones anyone???).

Imprisonment without trial (I don't think that Nixon stooped that low).

What else was there?

Using the CIA for political purposes? Bush even tried to use the DOJ for that.

Outing CIA officers? Oh. Nixon did not stoop that low.

Prosecuting leakers as in the Pentagon Papers? Obama is the worst in history on this one.

The white flag was thrown out before the battle was waged. By folding like cheap tin foil, the Republicans realized we were weak, and they made the most of it. I really believe the statement "impeachment is off the table" was a pivotal point in our history, and cleared the way for the many, many abuses that have come to pass.

If Democrats had half the drive to get things done that Republicans have, they would have the votes, as Republicans always do, they needed.

Not holding Rove in contempt? That has to have been one of the biggest mistakes ever. He refused to discuss his role in the Siegelman case. Why if he had nothing to do with it? He refused to discuss his role in the firing of the US Attorneys, why? What was he hiding? Well, we'll never know because Democrats dropped the ball, let him off the hook and now he's back, richer, more powerful and working to take THEM down any way he can.

One thing you cannot deny, even in the minority, Republicans get what they want. All we ever hear from Dems are excuses as to why they won't even fight.

things would be a lot easier. The law says they have no choice but to investigate and prosecute war crimes, violations of treaties and domestic wiretapping. Busies should have gone to JAIL.

9. "good guys finish last" -- Depends on your definition of good

"Nice" guys finish last is probably a lot more accurate.

Suppose you're in an infantry unit in the midst of a battle. A really good guy (or gal) wouldn't just sit back and let the enemy win. A good guy would fight hard.

In less life-threatening circumstances, people often confuse "good" with "nice", but even Jesus -- declared to be very, very good by all of his adherents -- is seen committing vandalism and assault in the temple in one of the most popular stories. It might qualify as good, but no one would call it nice.

In summary: We SHOULD be good. We should NOT be nice to the enemy. (And if the right wing isn't the enemy, then there's no such thing)

This was the most ill-advised, dumbfuck move she has ever made in the history of her political career. Everyone could see she was going to get screwed...and she got screwed and the Democratic party with her.

Thanks for living up to the image of being timid!

the DLC, Blue Dogs, Moderates, Thirdway, Faux Dems, Pubs Lite wanted it that way.

The above list identifies who needs to be run out of the Democratic Party in the same manner as the Dixiecrats were run out.

If the Liberals and Progressives had their way war Crime Hearings would have started in 06.

So...

We're supposed to be the bad guys?

And we're "stuck" with being on the right (as in correct) side... it's a bad thing to be good? Oh, if only we were the ones destroying people's lives and stealing their money!

"impeachment off the table" was neglect, not being "the good guys".
