By ESME CRIBB Published JANUARY 5, 2017, 10:20 AM EDT
Fox News named Tucker Carlson as Megyn Kelly's replacement in the 9 p.m. ET time slot in an announcement Thursday morning.
Carlson will host "Tucker Carlson Tonight" from Washington, D.C. in the time slot previously occupied by "The Kelly File" beginning Jan. 9, according to a Fox News release.
21st Century Fox CEO Rupert Murdoch praised Carlson's "spirited interviews and consistently strong performance" in the release.
"We look forward to him being a part of Fox News powerful primetime line-up," Murdoch said.

(15,391 posts)He's not a blonde female? And while he can be as vicious as Megyn, he's not as smart. There's going to be an uptick in, "Tucker Carson gets his ass handed to him by..." videos.

(653 posts)Guess I was wrong.
I did, however, had Tucker on my short list.
So I wasn't too far off.

(24,041 posts)..."rising star" used to describe Carlson elsewhere online this morning. Hasn't he been around rather too long to be considered a "rising star?"
May he flame out like he did on Dancing With The Stars.

(653 posts)I dumped NPR many years ago when they dropped all the shows with black hosts.
I think that was like '08 or '09.
From what I understand, they've been getting progressively worse.

Wait! Fox and Friends already has a couple of upskirt cams. Perhaps they could keep it as a spare.

(20,888 posts)Expect declining ratings as propping up a failure of a president instead of attacking a successful president doesn't draw in people and Tucker will suck at the job anyways.

(10,133 posts)he is horrible regardless of the time slot. My guess is that this is a "try out" of sorts until they can figure out who the real talent should be to replace MK. Her leaving is a deep loss to that channel regardless of how they may play it off.
