Charleston, WV mayor on Bernie: Take "that Jewish guy" and "dump him in the Gaza Strip"

Another GOP embarrassment from my home state:



CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A mayor in our region is facing harsh criticism after he made a controversial comment on his morning talk show.

Charleston Mayor Danny Jones was talking about the confirmation hearing of Jeff Sessions, President-elect Donald Trump's nominee for U.S. Attorney General.

"Jeff Sessions is going to be Attorney General, and I would say to Senator Schumer and Senator Warren ... and Senator, uh, Bernie, the Jewish guy, I want to drop on the Gaza Strip, Bernie Sanders, to get over it," Jones said on 580 WCHS Monday.

Mike Pushkin, the only Jewish member of the West Virginia Legislature, did not take the comment lightly.

Every now and again, these comments slip out and serve s a reminder of just exactly what we are to those types, and others demonstrate their contempt by scolding us for our reactions to these types of attacks, which also serves as a reminder of what they think of us.
