I noticed Bill Gates said it...and now so has CNN...
Umm...
Does it dawn on anyone that the last guy was like Jack Kennedy? Like, really?
wtf? Now we will start seeing Trump/Kennedy memes, and I don't even get this. Jack Kennedy was the youngest man ever elected president.

(31,407 posts)The comparison of Melania to Jackie O has me rolling on the floor.
Melania is what they called--in the 80's--Euro trash.
Jackie was a photographer when JFK met her--not a nude model like Melania.
Jackie did not plagiarize speeches. She ended up a well respected editor at
Doubleday in her later years. She was also very involved in historic preservation--particularly Grand Central Station--
unlike that a$$hole Trump who tore down the old Bonwit's to build his Trump Tower--and reneged on his
promise to preserve architectural details of the old building.
Fu*k Donald and Melania both.

Along with a few other things. And it didn't end very well for the Kennedys.
While "Camelot" is a wonderful dream when looking at it in hindsight, 1961 to 1963 was not necessarily a great time for most people in U.S. History. We were still in the midst of a struggle for Civil Rights and an economy that was still leaving a good 20% of the country behind.
True, we were experiencing a science and technology boom - because of the investment in NASA. I don't see that sort of investment on the horizon with this administration.
Unless they're comparing Drumphf's new money background. But Old Fred didn't push the idea of civic service and citizenship with his kids.

(12,682 posts)From the pictures I saw of the event, their stylist went with a very. 60's throwback look, a pastel color with the fitted dress-coat, 3/4 coat sleeves, cowl neck, and elbow gloves. The hair style was a simple 60's chignon - but to really look the part, she should have had a small pillbox or band hat.
Ms. Drumphf's pumps were a bit taller than Mrs. Kennedy would have worn; my mom wore a pair of heels at her 1958 wedding that, other than the heel height (mom's were 2 1/2" and the color, could have been exactly the same pair.

Bill Gates said this?
He must've made a "deal".

(11,243 posts)Also, Kennedy wrote books and made inspiring speeches that made America REALLY want to be great. Trump made reality TV shows.
JFK: "My fellow Americans, ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country."
Trump: "You're fired!"
JFK thought science and education was key to winning the cold war. Remember putting a man on the moon? THAT was intense. Can you imagine Trump asking his supporters to make a sacrifice or to get educated so we can win the economic cold war that is looming? And Trump is, at best, a Russian toady and at worst and actual asset. JFK was absolutely not going to appease or condone anything they did. He fought a brutal war of ideas with them and WON. Trump has already rolled over and shown Putin his belly. We know who the alpha dog is in that relationship.
Trump is a demagogue. Trump's mentor freakin' WORKED for Joe McCarthy! JFK my ass.... Point and laugh at anyone who tries to flog that tired BS. It is weak sauce.
