GOP Really Wants To Give Safety Net To Churches/Private Charities.

The GOP really wants to go to 1900 where churches and charities took care of the safety net. They simply believe that the government has NO place in taking care of the poor and taking care of people who do not have health care. They are reactionary in this thinking.

Then De Vos thinks also believes that tax money should go to these institutions because there is NOT enough giving to cover the cost of the safety net. That way poor people and sick people who have made poor choices in their life can be saved physically and spiritually by these same institutions.

What we are seeing is only the beginning of the implementation of this 19th century thinking. Actually there were really no social programs at the government level then. And there were no labor protections either.

Trump and the GOP want to reward the RW churches in some way for their support. Faith based initiatives are a good way to reward that support. Plus 91% of Congress has religious affiliations. And this situation is hardly and accident.
