Jail is pretty fucking humiliating and crazy, huh Jerry?

Fellow Inmates Reportedly Sang “Hey, Teacher, Leave Those Kids Alone” To Jerry Sandusky

Following guilty verdicts on 45 of 48 counts, Jerry Sandusky was shipped off to Centre County Correctional Facility, the same facility he was initially held in December. According to a fellow inmate at the time, known only as Josh, Sandusky was on the receiving end of some a cappella ridiculing.

Other prisoners were barred from communicating directly with Sandusky, but they could see him. And when the lights went out, inmates serenaded the disgraced coach with a famous line from Pink Floyd's "The Wall."

"At night, we were singing ‘Hey, teacher, leave those kids alone,' " Josh said, adding that everyone knew who Sandusky was because inmates had access to television and newspapers.

Jail is pretty fucking humiliating and crazy, huh Jerry?

2. What is the compelling public policy reason

for withholding a length of rope and access to a sturdy overhanging pipe or beam from this man?

Is he supposed to be subjected to torture by other inmates to satisfy the nation?

Give him an opportunity to opt out if he wants.

It's ludicrous to go through this charade of preventing his suicide just so extra judicial suffering can be inflicted upon him.

What a wretched excuse for a supposedly humane corrections system.

A lot of people do support torture by fellow inmates for Sandusky.

Don't let him opt out so he must endure the suffering.

The question is why subject him to it?

Because a torturer deserves to be tortured?

A lot of people do feel that way.

There was a dude here a few months ago who kidnapped his 18-month old son and murdered him.

He killed himself shortly after arrest.

The mood of the community was that justice had been served.

Even from a compassion standpoint, I think prisoners should be allowed to take that route out if they so choose.

7. Yes, the state has a responsibility to prevent suicide by its prisoners

It also has a responsibilty to prevent physical violence against a prisoner.

The singing...well, I guess that's a horror he'll just have to endure.

is a responsibility which the system is unable to fulfill, nor is it earnestly embraced by jailers, especially with regard to heinous criminals.

So I'll count your response as a pro-torture one.

12. The alternative for Sandusky is torture and death upon fellow inmates' terms.

That passes for humane treatment in this country.

fantasies notwithstanding. The system that convicts and incarcerates Sandusky has a duty to safeguard his person while he remains incarcerated, NO MATTER HOW HEINOUS THE OFFENSE! Otherwise, let us bring back the charnel house and be done with this experiment we call a democratic republic.

He can endure the taunts and probably physical abuse at the hands of his fellow inmates, or he can be in solitary.

Neither is a very appealing option, but jail isn't supposed to be fun.

It is very difficult to determine what "justice" would look like in this case. Those young men will never get their lives back. How do we, as a society, determine what should happen to the person who did these terrible things?

We can punish, but can we serve justice?
