Trump. To quote my mother: "I don't like to think about that."

I avoided news during the Reagan years, and I'm on the verge of going to ground once again. This time it will be more than turning off television news, though. This time it's going to mean staying away from the Internet. Reading the first three or so posts in DU can leave me terrified. I already have stress I can't avoid (a husband who is edging his way into Alzheimer's), and the very thought of our new president and his cabinet quadruples my stress. Just writing this brings tears to my eyes. And I almost never cry. The last time I cried over politics was the night Reagan was elected.

Years ago my mother and I were discussing evolution (me) vs. the Garden of Eden (Mother). When I asked her how she explained the cave men, she told me, "I don't like to think about that." Maybe not thinking about that is in my genes. Sigh.

Remember Barbara Bush not wanting to bother her beautiful mind with the body bags coming back from Iraq?

I am sorry to hear about your husband. I am facing much the same thing, only my husband is most probably in the early stages
of Lewy Body Dementia--and he is in almost complete denial about it. He will acknowledge some of the symptoms of Parkinsons
(LBD has been described as Parkinsons meets Alzheimers) but refuses to acknowledge the signs of dementia and simply explains
all that away as "normal aging". Except, it isn't. Makes it tough. My stress level is through the roof. I'm finding it very difficult to
sleep.

So, please pm me if you'd like to talk.

No tv....

Not sure now if that was a good idea, since I missed a whole long chapter in the book of American politics, and the prequel to now.

THIS idiot bears watching, and watching is, thankfully, so much easier now that we have the internet.
