How to deal with a Trumpian leader (from "The Prisoner" (1967))

Last edited Tue Jan 24, 2017, 07:14 PM - Edit history (1)

One of the greatest, socially and politically provocative shows ever made for commercial television was the 1960s series "The Prisoner." Superficially part of the superspy craze that emerged with the James Bond films, "The Prisoner" fearlessly explored the dangers of authoritarianism, propaganda, conformity, and totalitarianism.

And in its December 1967 episode 'Hammer into Anvil' we see its eponymous lead character facing down a thin-skinned, paranoid, volatile leader by effectively turning his various character flaws against him.
