"What is pissing you off tonight?" Time

Mine..
Did anyone see any generic pro-Democratic Party ads during the election season? I live in a red state and I didn't. Does the DNC have an ad budget for generic ads? Or are all their funds earmarked to individual races.

I think it is long overdue to tout our achievements publicize what we stand for.
It is obvious that we have allowed the opposition to define us proven by polls of Trump supporters.

I would definitely contribute to a fund to put out 30 second ads on Fox and CNN. Can we buy ads on Rush radio??

"2016 was the warmest year on record and X number of scientists believe we
are causing the climate to change......"The Democratic Party believes we need
to do XYZ, Call your congressman..."

"The Democratic Party passes the ACA because we care about all people being able
to see a doctor. Call your congressman...."

Needs work, of course, but slick it up, add some visual, boom.

What's making you mad tonight?

1. I don't think the DNC had the budget. Every time HRC got a lead.....

some carefully seeded innocuous (but damaging) leak would ensue and they'd have to work to build the lead back up. They wanted to spend more focus on non-presidential races but couldn't (though I know we did at least pick up some House and Senate seats).

But to your point, I think this why it's crucial the DNC is headed by someone who's not in office and can work full time on the kind of messaging you describe.

fuming pissed off angry any time I read anything on the internet - which is why I've become a posting fool here with the excellent articles being written on TPM and Slate.

Yup, I fear Trump's greatest strength - media savvy - will make the low info voters thing he is actually doing great things. Funny, though, all he is doing is taking 5 seconds to sign orders and bs'ing with people. He's probably thinking "wow, this job is so easy ! "

8. They're still fighting Richard Nixon in 1970

and that means they've pulled their money out of states they think they can't win and they're spending it all in sure-thing blue states.

Smart, right? Makes sure that number of blue states keeps getting smaller, while "can't win anywhere else" becomes a self fulfilling prophecy. Never mind Howard Dean proved them all dead wrong in one short term as party head with his "50 State Strategy." These are conservatives we're talking about and conservatives cling to their dogma with bulldog tenacity and refuse to learn anything else.

That's why they won't do advertising in your state. Never mind the Republican crapola is getting old and worn out and people are getting ready for a real alternative. They see Democrats not getting support and think it's an indication they won't fight for the folks back home if they do get in so they keep voting for Republicans.

So I'm just biding what little time I have left, watching all this garbage play out.

Case in point - the EPA travesty. Trump is not intellectually astute and he doesn't read...so someone else must have ordered the EPA clamp down. Rachel was totally scary tonight.

13. We need voter registration ads NOW
Wed Jan 25, 2017, 01:11 AM

Radio. TV. Billboards. Public transit posters.

Get people to register now so that they don't find out on election day that they got kicked off the rolls. Or find out during early voting that their application to register won't be processed without x, y, and z documents.

The next POTUS election is in 4 years, but there are plenty of state and local elections way before that. And state and local matters in our daily lives.

(State and local elections also matter in preparing leaders who eventually can make it to the top federal posts.)
