Trump is reportedly still using his unsecured Android phone

Donald Trump’s long-held Android phone is a security nightmare for a high-level politician, but according to a report from The New York Times, the newly inaugurated president is still using the device.

In a profile of the president’s time so far in the White House, the Times reports that Trump has held on to his “old, unsecured Android phone” — previously reported to be a Samsung device — despite some protests by his aides. According to the Times, he used it to tweet just last night, suggesting he would “send in the Feds” to Chicago. (The tweet was apparently sent in response to a Bill O’Reilly segment.)

I predict zero outrage over this very real breach of security protocol by Trump. Watch the hypocrites ignore or brush off his unseceured phone use as being nothing at all like Hillary's email.

Why did President Obama have to surrender his Blackberry and have his later iPhone use restricted and this moron gets to tweet like a civilian with no responsibilities??? This is infuriating!!

I'm super pissed off about this.

Respected the rules and opinions of the experts in his administration. Trump, on the other hand, does not respect his administration (I doubt he has any experts in there regarding such things) and those that do have concerns are afraid to mention it to Trump because they are afraid to be yelled at and fired.

There's a lot of reasons why using an unsecured phone is a very bad idea. The GPS feature being just one of them, most presidents don't want to broadcast their specific location to terrorists.

That he's making calls on this phone is a real issue to me. Who is he calling and what is he talking about that he doesn't want to go through the WH secure phone systems?

It's a problem because someone could hack his phone and tweet something that could cause chaos. Last year 60 Minutes showed how easy it is to take over a phone and get any info they want. They used Ted Liu (sp?) a pretty tech savvy congressman's phone to demonstrate just how easy. A hacker can get your info and phone numbers for anyone in the phone's address book, then get all their info. I'm sure that would be a treasure trove of info for Trump opponents, too.

This is a very real security concern, both for Trump and for the country. However, I am sure the hypocritical snowflakes aren't going to get outraged about this actual breach of security.

You've been drowning in a plutocracy for decades! Now is not the time to just realize there are different laws according to your social standing in America!

It would appear from today's NYT article, and the change in tone in his tweets, that he's gotten it back as of yesterday.

Less than 24 hours before his inauguration, The Associated Press reports President-elect Donald Trump has given up his personal cellphone.

Trump apparently told a friend on Thursday that he has given up the phone on the advice of security agencies.

Trump has become known for tweeting personally from his device, an Android smartphone and being surprisingly available to those with his number.

So I don't have a problem using the Samsung for @realDonaldTrump. It's personal social media blather. Nobody believes that stuff.

He probably doesn't have the password to @POTUS.

Offences on his phone and then send them to reporters.

Sure. Hope. That. Doesn't. Happen.
