Best news of the day: MSNBC viewers dumping Morning Joe.

From PoliticusUSA:

MSNBC viewers have spoken loudly as Morning Joe’s ratings continue to slide. The conservative talker is now the lowest rated morning show on cable news.

One statistic from TVNewser tells the story of Morning Joe’s decline, “Last year, “Morning Joe” was ranked #28 of all cable news shows in the demo. This January it is #47, and in fourth place in the demo behind “Fox & Friends,” “New Day,” and ‘Morning Express.'” The numbers for Joe Scarborough’s show have fallen apart. “On weekday mornings, CNN’s New Day registered its highest ratings ever in January and posted its largest monthly share of the cable news morning audience since 2009. The program also easily beat MSNBC’s Morning Joe, topping Joe for four straight months in total viewers and seven consecutive months among A25-54. Fox and Friends posted its lowest delivery since 2001.”

I had recalled that she wasn't so bad back in her original days at CNN so I was curious whether she would bring a fresh perspective or same old same old. But no amount of Rachel gushing over her "friend" could bring me back for a second week of Greta 2.0 after those first several days. She's terrible, and her guests were terrible. You'd have thought that she'd call in some markers from the best in the business for her debut week, but she didn't. Her interviews were all stale and she just looked old and tired. Sorry Rachel.

Lots of professional CONS. Gonzales last week. Paul Ryan this week. She leads with the CONS. She remains in their corner. She argues from their point of view. She repeats and defends their talking points. I even wrote a paper letter to Phil Griffin, news prez, saying she DOES NOT belong on MSNBC, a network I and many others turn to, to get AWAY from the GOP and CON talk.

Why they thought she'd make sense in the lineup I do not know. All I do know is, at 3pm Pacific time (6 Eastern), I now routinely switch channels.

spouting GOP talking points, it's also the fiction that MEka is a conservative when she's almost as conservative as Joe. You just can't insult the intelligence of the audience that way. They'll see through the phoniness. The deal breaker for most was their sycophantic relationship with Trump. As one conservative commentator put it, 'Joe's show is really a Trump pac'.

...every morning. Their HUGE tv is set on fox, and runs ALL DAY LONG with the volume on and stupid fills the air.

They are all wealthy. They are all dense as can be...never able to catch a punch line in a joke, because they were just too simple minded. PERFECT fox tools. This is what makes up the fox audience...idiots like that and the cluster of frightened, white money worshippers. Throw in a handful of confused educated and kkkristian bible thumpers, and you have about 95% of the morons that tune in and get dumber by the second.

Little hope.

75. AND THIS ARTICLE IS --- OLD and FAKE to be completely honest.
Wed Jan 25, 2017, 04:52 PM
Jan 2017

A simple Google Search of a sentence above:

"This January it is #47, and in fourth place in the demo behind “Fox & Friends,” “New Day,” and ‘Morning Express."

Led to this article on Newser:
January 2015 Ratings: MSNBC Down Double Digits

Which has a similar paragraph to what is above:
"Last year, “Morning Joe” was ranked #28 of all cable news shows in the demo. This January it is #47, and in fourth place in the demo behind “Fox & Friends,” “New Day,” and “Morning Express.”.

That leads to this point: POLITICUSUSA is a Fake News Blog On The Left.

Look, we LOVE NEW DAY with Chris and Alisyn to pieces and watch the show on the regular for #TruthJournalism in the morning, however, folks need to GOOGLE SEARCH all "articles" from "PoliticusUSA" before taking anytime written there at face value.

Amazing how a Fake News Story got 168 Recs on DU. But, guess it's about if the Fake News confirms one's opinion bias, then who cares to check to see if the story is true -- or downright copyrighted BS in this case.

to click thru onto links. That's a bummer. Also indicates that if those were its ratings that far back and they kept it on anyway, they don't seem to be very responsive to their viewers.

I don't watch TV in the day (work, etc.) but today I was home and had CNN on while doing some housework.

They are giving Trump a very hard time about the developments today. Not hyper partisan, but quite willing to call Trump on several moves (the wall, penalizing sanctuary cities, election fraud, etc.) and guests were smart and experienced in the topic of discussion.

I'll be watching them in the evening to check out the lineup. I will always watch Rachel but CNN is definitely worth a look.

and Chris when I can. I used to pop MSNBC on in the morning and just keep it on in the background all day. I did that for years until they went right. Now my t.v. is off most of the day.

I LOVE Joy Reid too, she's actually my favorite because she's as smart as Rachel, but suffers no fools or lies, but miss her show too often because of the time slot. I do record but forget to watch.

Halperin isn't well respected in the journalism community and for good reason. Van Susteren has yet to impress with her choice of topics and with ome occasional bouts of Fox hangover.

Joe is a real case. One of the members of the House impeachment team - determined to impeach Clinton for anything, and he paid the price thereafter losing his seat along with other members on the team.

Matthews seems to blow with the breeze and isn't that insightful. Guests are mostly retreads.

I really like Chris Cuomo -- especially the legal expertise he brings to the table. He's knowledgeable, unless most teevee hosts, and asks really good questions. He also is not afraid to challenge guests.

There are fewer lies on New Day than the other programs. I'm glad to see them doing better.

Damn, three hours a day, five days a week, I refuse to kill what little brain cells that I have listening to that show.

Of course, I'm not their targeted audience but a person is a person.

I personally would be thrilled if they would start my week day morning's with Joy Reid instead of that Joke program and put Joe on weekends...since they love him so.

After watching weeks of concerted attempts to apologize then normalize Trump's erratic and undemocratic behavior, I tweeted my goodbye to Morning Joe and have not watched since. CNN has really stepped up their game and is now my "go to" program. Joy and Stephanie have potential. Adios "Morning Joe".
