We can all loathe the SOB but I read plenty of posts where DUers are attributing physical illness to having Trump in power. Some are turning to sleeping pills and anti-anxiety/depression meds.

Damn, it's scary to think he wields that sort of power over anyone's individual vitality. Yes, he unfortunately can repeal Obamacare and thereby jeopardize health care for tens of millions of people. But we have to try to avoid allowing him to make any of us have such a visceral reaction that our well being is shot.

Deep breaths!

If there was an option to get on a spaceship and move to another fucking planet where there was either a sensible society or even just no fucking people at all, I'd be seriously considering it.

But then I realize that probably 60-90% of the people on our planet feel that way for one reason or another, and most are in a lot worse conditions than I'm in. There's a fuck-ton more of what I will presumptuously call "us" than there are of "them," so maybe that counts as some kind of glimmer of hope that the masses will overcome this blatant oppression? Who knows, maybe someday we will rise up, and hopefully in the aftermath humans will figure out how not to be such assholes to one another, so we can all cooperate and make things better for everyone.

But mostly right now I'm just disgusted, angry, and exhausted. I've also been working in the neighborhood of 12 to 16 hours a day this week, so that doesn't really help with my mood.

Angry that people are unwilling to see Twitler for what he is. Sad that people are so full of hate that hurting others seems like a reasonable goal. The fact they do it with their hand on the bible just makes it that much worse. I am having a hard time seeing the good in humanity. I'm not giving up but I never thought I would see this happen to my country.

With today being the most terrible one yet. I'm deeply concerned about the damage being done to our country. I have a child and I'd like her future to be better than mine was at her age, not worse! I'm sitting here right now looking at her picture and thinking I can't let them destroy her hopes and dreams.

The end result is, I'm mad as hell and I want to fight these RW extremist.

Maybe the Republican Inquisition will hold off until they destroy social security, ACA, Medicaid and start a nuclear war with China.

Minus the public burnings, of course.

There are very powerful hands at play here who want to completely destroy the fundamental principles of liberalism in the west, and American voters played right into their hands. Those behind this are laughing with glee at our foolish ignorance.

Now all of us have to pay for the ignorance of the minority for generations, and maybe longer.

I've got to give the devil his due, Putin is playing the USA and western democracies for fools.

He will use Trump to destroy the USA and NATO without firing a shot in anger. Russia and China will be the world powers in the future. All of Europe will be under Russian hegemony and we will be a client state of mother Russia at best.

Sun Tzu would be proud of his tactics no doubt. He was won the war before it started!

I mean Putin has the biggest win in history right now with no bloodshed required. I still think he will push his puppet BLOTUS Dump into a war with China though.

Then mother Russia would be the one and only undisputed power of the entire world.

The USA will be a backwater banana republic wholly owned and operated by the Koch bros and full of science denying theocratic mouth droolers.

After a full year of Trump insanity and total republican control I look for a brain drain to start taking place.

Scientists, researchers, and any discipline based in reality will have no place in a republican reality denying theocracy.

It's very sad to see how easy it was to take the USA out. Of course the USSR fell without a shooting war as well and now its our turn it seems.

disgusted and enraged, but I have been disconnecting from the internet earlier and earlier each day to get on with some newly-developed hobbies and fun with friends. I'm making an extra effort to get out, take up painting, join organizations (not political) dedicated to my hobbies or general socialization, and travel a bit more. My mental health is getting more attention. Instead of reading the internet for hours, I do watch Cenk Uygur's YouTube news every night, which gives me an overview of the horrors of the day with a bit of humor. Love that guy.
